I Left My Phone At Home Frequently Asked Questions
My phone freezes when I enter my username and password on the configuration screen. What do I do?
This issue has been affecting some Windows Phone customers - sorry!
- Login to your Dashboard on http://ileftmyphoneathome.com/login.aspx.
- Delete the phone that's having problems.
- Add the phone again, and make sure you enter your phone number properly. If in the United States, enter it with just the area code and phone number, no spaces, dashes, or other punctuation.
- Save that phone and it should appear in your phones list.
- Now, on the phone, open the I Left My Phone At Home app and open the Configuration screen.
- Enter your username and password, and make sure the phone number on that screen matches the phone number you entered on the Web site. You shouldn't need to change the Int'l Add or Int'l Trim values. Tap OK when done to save the configuration.
- Your application should be working fine now. If not, please call or email support.
Note: You should only have to go through this procedure once.
Ok, I installed the software. Now what?
- Once you have installed the software, please:
- Create an account . You will enter your phone number, email address, and assign a password to your account.
- After you have created your account, enter that information on the Configuration screen in the mobile app. Make sure you correctly enter your username and password!
- International users: You may need to tweak the Int'l Trim and Int'l Add options in order to enable SMS responses. This does not affect your ability to track calls and texts - it only applies to responding from the Dashboard.
- Int'l Trim is how many numbers to trim from the beginning of received phone numbers.
- Int'l Add is any numbers to add to the beginning of received phone numbers.
- That's it, now you can start using I Left My Phone At Home!
Are International phone numbers supported?
- Yes. See the notes above about Int'l Trim and Int'l Add. The default settings should be fine for most users.
Does the app have to be running in order for it to work?
- Yes. Also, I Left My Phone At Home will launch on phone startup, in case you soft reset.
How long does it take before my phone shows that it's away?
- The app "checks in" about every five minutes, so you should see the status update within 5-10 minutes of setting your phone away.
Are text messages sent from the Web site sent by you or by my phone?
- By your phone. Messages are queued and sent to your phone, which then uses your phone's texting ability to send those messages.
Does it cost anything to send texts from the Web site?
- No, but your carrier may charge you for texting and data plan usage, since the texts are sent from your phone. You are responsible for all of those charges.
How do I get upgrades?
What do the icons mean in my messages list?
= Phone Call
= SMS (text message)
= Response to SMS
= Confirmation, such as when an SMS has been sent
Can I have more than one phone registered to my account?
- Yes. You can have as many phones registered as you like.
How long are messages kept on your servers?
Is there a maximum number of messages I'm allowed to have?

This should already be included on your device. If not, download the Compact Framework from here, install it, and you’re good to go!
I have a custom ROM. Will this application work?
It should work fine. This version of Mobliza uses SQLite, so all those strange issues with SQL CE have gone away.
Will you build an iPhone version of Mobliza?
We’d love to. Unfortunately, Apple only wants you using their texting software. Complain to them.
Will you build an Android version of Mobliza?
If we get enough requests, sure.
Why don’t you charge for Mobliza? Is there adware in there?
We do charge for Mobliza. Did you download one of the older free versions? If so, please buy Mobliza so we can keep providing upgrades and writing great software for you. If you downloaded it from a torrent or some other pirate source, shame on you, we worked hard to write it - can't you part with a lousy two bucks?
Where do I send feature suggestions?
There is a feature suggestion forum, please let us know what you want!
Will you pay for my cell phone costs if I get charged by my provider for sending so many texts?
No, you’re responsible for that. Look at you, all grown up with a cell phone.
I'm having problems with International numbers. Is there a fix to resolve this?
Yes, that was an issue with Mobliza 1.0. Install the latest version of Mobliza from this page and the problem will be solved.
